Sustainability is a main goal of the line which is made in fair trade certified factories where each piece is built to last for years without wearing out due to the use of high quality materials. The carbon footprint is also low because cotton is grown, knit cut and sewn in Peru, not shipped between countries. Clothing is colored with plant based dyes or low impact dying that have the lowest possible impact on the environment.
Renowned architect Andrew Geller designed this home for Leonard Frisbie in 1958 in Amagansett, NY. The concept was a simple beach house that was designed to be a summer retreat for every family, and to emphasize the indoor-outdoor nature based lifestyle that creates a genuine sense of happiness.
Matt Frisbie spent summers in this house all his life, playing, surfing and enjoying dinners with family and friends. The name of this clothing line honors his grandfather, and has been created in this spirit.
Twenty years ago Matt travelled around South America finally arriving in Peru. He fell in love with the culture, lifestyle and the local waves. While in Peru Matt understood there was a niche in the high end market for a lifestyle cotton clothing brand.
He founded a boutique and a small workshop and went on to sell his garments at: Steven Alan, Roberta Freymann, LOLA New York, Scoop, Love adorned, and Barneys.
Leonard Frisbie was founded in November of 2019. The rest is history...
